CAMPUS CHRONICLES

some funnily find me to be good a story teller, yeah maybe I am,I never really remember what I expected in campus but I looked forward to the looong holidays and the long trips,I knew I wanted to get far away from home now that my primary and highschool were closer home.

When I received a letter of admission from a university in mombasa my urge and joy to get there escalated,I look back and wish I was closer home and that's because of my mom's cooking,"chapat nyalo tiye iyi mbalariany kae" that's to say chapatis can grow in your stomach hehe.

But I also met new friends and learnt to be a little more independent, freshman year was a lone ranger time especially the first semester,it's like you are trying to connect everywhere and to everyone till you get the right connection, that's maybe the time you make the right and wrong decisions.

There is also the freedom that comes with campus, you know the freedom of no one trying to figure out out why you missed a particular lecture, then I come to find out it's a trap because the retakes that come at the wake of missing lectures are numerous, finally you've got to drag yourself to that lecture hall.

Then there's the pressure, social, financial, just the pressure to fit in a group a place, to do what a particular group is doing,to feel a sense of belonging, because we're human beings and that's how we're wired it depends on where the pressure drags you to it maybe to Oblivion or to a safe haven in case there are such places.

Mmmh! the lectures are great,I love some while I don't like others,I don't know if it's only me but I feel an attachment to certain units that's since my freshman year while others are ummh!

But friends count a lot, they're like a human support system at least for me they've come through in different ways, there are also times that I sit alone and just meditate on my life which I believe is also important, personally also God is taking me through this journey.
